Rhex Heat Recovery Unit

Description:

Principle of Operation

Rhex primarily consists of two elements – open stainless-steel tank in which dirty effluent flows and series
of exchanging discs mounted on hollow shaft called Rotor. The clean process water flows inside the shaft
assembly, which is suspended inside the tank and rotates by small electric motor. This accomplishes two
things : It suspends all pollutants by stirring action of rotation while keeping thermal surfaces clean and
increases the thermodynamic efficiency of exchanger by minimizing fouling.

Why Rhex?

“Shell & Tube” or “Plate & Frame” type heat exchanger work adequately for clean fluids. However, for
polluted stream they foul and eventually plug heat exchanger adding to valuable maintenance time and
cost. On other hand Rhex rotating discs are self-cleaning requiring zero maintenance
